Teacher of the Year 2026

Flagler Schools will host the 2025-2026 Teachers, Employees and Rookies of the Year Celebration January 26 at the Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center (Flagler Auditorium) to honor those leading the way in educating our next generation of Flagler Schools students.
 “Legacy By The Sea” is the theme of this year’s celebration as each school’s top teacher, employee and rookie teacher will be recognized. The district will also shine a light on the “Principal of the Year” and “Assistant Principal of the Year.” Flagler Palm Coast High School Principal Bobby Bossardet and Rymfire Elementary School Assistant Principal Abra Seay were announced as the winners in December.

Decade Days - 90's

Today is the 70th Day of the School Year at Flagler Schools! And this year, to celebrate our special "Decade Days" (70th, 80th, 90th and 100th Days), we will highlight students who were among the first class to walk their halls the year their old schools opened for business! 

Middle School Career Fairs 2026

The Flagler Schools Middle School Career Fairs are coming soon to a school near you! Thanks to the Flagler County Education Foundation, the The Flagler Schools Career Fairs are coming to Indian Trails Middle School on January 20th and to Buddy Taylor Middle School on January 30th.

Suzanne Carter Receives Award

Old Kings Elementary School (OKES) Paraprofessional Suzanne Carter is being honored for making significant contributions in working with OKES fifth-grader Maverick Fitzgerald.

Flagler School Board Member Headed To Washington

District 1 School Board Member Derek D. Barrs appointed to the board by Governor DeSantis in October 2024, has been nominated by President Donald J. Trump to serve as the Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Board Approves Hansen, Rinaldi Headed for Top Spots at Matanzas, Buddy Taylor

The Flagler Schools Board unanimously approved the selection of the two newest Principals for Flagler Schools at their monthly board meeting tonight. The Board signed off on Flagler Schools Superintendent LaShakia Moore's recommended appointments of Mike Rinaldi as the next principal of Matanzas High School (MHS) and Katie Hansen as the next principal of Buddy Taylor Middle School (BTMS).

Brandy Anderson One of Five Finalist for Teacher of the Year

The Florida Department of Education announced Brandy Nicole Anderson, a teacher at Indian Trails Middle School in Flagler County, as one of five finalists for the 2026 Florida Teacher of the Year. The state finalists were chosen from 76 district teachers of the year.

Earth Day, an annual event dedicated to environmental protection, is today—Tuesday, April 22, 2025and marks its 55th anniversary.

What began as a national movement in the United States in 1970 has blossomed globally. Earth Day is coordinated by earthday.org, which unites over a billion individuals across more than 192 countries.
