Purpose and Effect:

The purpose is to obtain approval of the revisions to board policy in response to recent legislative action from the 2025 Florida Legislative Session, updated guidance from the Florida Department of Education, State Board of Education rulemaking, as well as a review of Federal and State law, the Florida Administrative Code, relevant agency regulations, court decisions, and Attorney General opinions.

 

Authority: FS 120.81; 1001.32(1),(2); 1001.41(2); 1001.43; 1012.23, or as listed in each proposed rule.

 

Law Implemented: As listed in each proposed policy.

 

Summary of Statement of Estimated Regulatory Cost: No statement of estimated regulatory costs has been prepared. Any person who wishes to provide information regarding the statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative, must do so in writing within 21 days of this notice.

 

The Board will, upon the written request of any affected person received within twenty-one (21) days after publication of this notice, give affected persons an opportunity to present evidence and argument on all issues under consideration.

 

Any material pertinent to the issues under consideration submitted to the Superintendent within 21 days after the date of publication of this notice or submitted at a public hearing will be considered by the Board and made a part of the rulemaking record. Action on the proposed rule changes is anticipated to occur at a  future School Board meeting, which will be separately noticed.
