Parent Organizations
Parent Organizations
Parent organizations are groups of parents, and often school staff, who meet regularly to support the interests of students, teachers, and parents. There are a variety of groups available at Flagler Schools, both at the district level and on each of our campuses. Each of these organizations provides the opportunity to make a difference by becoming involved and informed about your student's education.
District Groups
ESE Parent Advisory Council
The ESE Parent Advisory Council (EPAC) is a collaborative effort between Flagler Schools and parents of students with disabilities to improve collaboration and communication between the groups and to promote best practices in inclusive education throughout the district. For more details of the format of the committee, refer to the ESE Parent Advisory Council bylaws.
ESOL Parent Leadership Committee
The ESOL Parent Leadership Committee (PLC) is open to all ESOL Flagler Schools parents. The group meets to discuss the ESOL program, the screening and monitoring of the English acquisition process, and to gather input from our English learner families. Spanish and Russian translators are often in attendance at these meetings.
Grandparents as Parents
This group is open to all grandparents who parent one or more grandchildren. Meetings include a variety of guest speakers that share resources, support, and advice. Grandparents raising their grandchildren are invited to attend a quarterly meeting with other grandparents who are also raising their grandkids. The group aims to share resources and support. For information on the Grandparent's meeting, contact Diane Howes at howesd@flaglerschools.com.
