Two women greet a young person outside a building, with smiles and a laptop visible. For generations, Flagler Schools has been shaped by educators who believe in the power of public education and the promise of every student. Superintendent LaShakia Moore’s journey as a longtime educator in Flagler Schools has given her a deep understanding of the students, families, educators and community that make this district special.

A teacher leans over a student's desk, engaging in a classroom discussion. That experience now guides Flagler Schools into a new chapter as an A-rated district. It’s an achievement earned through the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students. The “A” is an important milestone, but it is not the finish line. It is a reflection of where Flagler Schools is today and a foundation for moving us all “Flagler Forward.”

She spent a year as a curriculum specialist with the district’s Teaching and Learning Department. Moore was then selected to become principal at Rymfire Elementary School. In 2021, she returned to Teaching and Learning as director. A year later, she was promoted to Assistant Superintendent for Academic Services. The School Board unanimously appointed her Superintendent of Flagler Schools on September 5, 2023.

The future of Flagler Schools is about ensuring that every student has the confidence, skills and opportunities to write the next chapter of their own story.

Thank you for making Flagler Schools “The Best Choice In Flagler!”
