Frequently Asked Questions

Café EDU has created a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help families find clear and concise answers about food services at Flagler Schools. Whether you need information about free meals, payment options, special dietary requirements, or other related questions, you'll find the answers below.

  • Yes, all Flagler Schools students qualify for free meals.

  • No, there is no need to sign up for free meals.

  • No, the Free & Reduced Meals Application does not need to be completed.

  • The meals are paid for by the USDA, which is federally funded by taxpayers.

  • Lunches will be free beginning the 2023–24 school year, for a period of three years, with the possibility of renewal. The goal is to continue the program indefinitely.

  • No, a la carte items must be paid for using cash or the student's SchoolCafe account.

  • Students will have to pay for an additional entree, but they may take additional fruits and vegetables for free. 

  • We do not use PIN's anymore.  All students have their barcodes on their ID's and that's what we scan. 

  • Yes, families can add money to their accounts using the SchoolCafé website or app.

  • Café EDU will work with each family individually to issue refunds. Please email CafeEDU@flaglerschools.com to inquire about a refund of your remaining SchoolCafe balance.

  • Yes, your SchoolCafé balance can be transferred to other students.

  • Students must take at least three out of five of the offered components, and one of the three must be a fruit or vegetable.

  • If your student has a special diet, you must complete and submit the Special Meals Accommodation form. For additional information, please email Stefanie Thompson, Food Services Nutrition Specialist, at thompsons1@flaglerschools.com.

  • Vegetarian options are available for students of all grade levels.
