Flagler Schools Reach Milestones as District/School Grades Released by FDOE
All Flagler Schools' educational institutions have achieved either an "A" or a "B" in the Florida Department of Education's (FDOE) annual "grading" process. The District's overall grade was a "B."
"I am here with some exciting news," said Superintendent LaShakia Moore in today's video. "Today, the State of Florida released school and district grades. And I am here to say that for the first time in nine years, all of our schools are rated an 'A' or a 'B'."
Learning gains and achievements in English, science, and mathematics resulted in improved school scores at three schools: Buddy Taylor Middle School (now a "B" school), Bunnell Elementary School (now a "B" school), and Matanzas High School (now an "A" school). The other schools held their 2023 grades.
The 2024 grades for all Flagler District's schools are:
- Buddy Taylor Middle School: B (2023, C)
- Bunnell Elementary School: B (2023, C)
- Rymfire Elementary School: B (2023, B)
- Imagine School at Town Center: B (2023, B)
- Matanzas High School: A (2023, B)
- Flagler-Palm Coast High School: B (2023, B)
- Lewis E. Wadsworth Elementary: B (2023, B)
- Old Kings Elementary: A (2023, A)
- Belle Terre Elementary School: B (2023, B)
- Indian Trails Middle School: A (2023, A)
Superintendent Moore praised the "hard work of our faculty, staff, and students and the amazing support of this great community.
"I am so excited to get started with this school year," said Superintendent Moore. "This is exactly the momentum we need to go after being an 'A' district. You hear it said, but now we get to see it: this is Flagler Forward!"
