Volunteering

Volunteer with Flagler Schools

We’re excited to welcome volunteers and visitors to Flagler Schools! Whether you're helping in a classroom, chaperoning a field trip, or attending a school event, your presence makes a positive impact.

How to Become a Volunteer

To volunteer at any Flagler school, follow these steps:

1. Submit a Volunteer Application through the Raptor Volunteer Portal.

2. Screening Requirements Based on Role:
Based on the roles and activities you select in your application, you will receive instructions for one of the following background checks:

Tier A - All Visitors
  • Required for volunteers making one-time or occasional visits to a school. Will register using Raptor in the schools front office.
Tier B - Basic Volunteer
  • Required for recurring volunteers assisting students and school personnel with on-campus activities such as classroom helpers, reading pals, and event assistants.
  • Cost: $19 annually
Tier C - Premium Volunteers

(via the Florida Clearinghouse):

Allow you to volunteer on campus as well as chaperone out-of-county and/or overnight field trips, and is required for all coaches.

  • Cost: $74
  • Valid for: 5 years
  • If you are already registered in the Florida Clearinghouse, you may not need a new screening.

3. Once your background check is cleared, you will receive a confirmation email and be added to the Raptor system, which school staff use to verify approved volunteers.

Please apply at least two weeks before your first volunteer activity to allow time for processing.

When You Arrive at a School

  • Bring your state-issued photo ID.

  • Check in at the front office using the Raptor Visitor Management System.

  • Approved volunteers will receive a disposable sticker badge for the day. Permanent volunteer badges are not issued.

Resiliency Coach Training

Our goal is to build a stronger support system for students as they navigate personal and academic challenges.
