The FortifyFL app is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows anyone to instantly relay information to law enforcement and school officials. Students, staff, families, and members of the community can use the app to report school safety concerns anonymously and easily.

The Florida Legislature directed this tool’s development in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. The app is critical to ensuring that all Florida schools are safe environments where students and educators can experience and share the joy of learning without fear.

When a report is made, the app is designed to send information to threat assessment teams, including the school resource officer assigned to each school. Some tips go directly to 911, for example, if a student were seen placing a gun in a backpack.

Flagler Schools encourages our families, students, and employees to download the FortifyFL app to their mobile devices. The app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

FortifyFL and Flagler Schools

Student and staff safety remains our top priority. Flagler Schools, in partnership with local law enforcement, takes every threat and tip seriously. Quick response and thorough investigations help ensure individuals making threats are held accountable.

Each year, school districts must provide FortifyFL training to parents and guardians, either before school starts or at enrollment. This training outlines the serious consequences of making threats or false reports related to school property, transportation, or events—including school discipline and potential criminal charges under Florida Statutes 790.162, 790.163, 836.10, and 837.05.

False tips waste critical emergency resources and will not be tolerated. Students who submit false reports through FortifyFL or other means face severe consequences, including arrest, restitution, and expulsion.
Please talk with your children about the serious nature of these actions, even if made as a joke and review the provided resources together.
