School Board

The School Board is responsible for the organization and control of the district's public schools and is empowered to determine policies for the effective operation and the general improvement of the school system. Our school board consists of five school board members, each of whom is elected by Flagler County voters. All school board members represent the entire district and serve staggered four-year terms. The board elects its chairperson and vice-chairperson annually.

The school board appoints the superintendent, who serves as the chief administrative officer of Flagler Schools. The superintendent has authority for the direction and operation of the district under policies adopted by the school board. The board also employs the School Board Attorney, who reports directly to the Board.

The public is encouraged to contact the school board members about any issue at 386-437-7526 x1104
