Parent Organizations

Parent organizations are groups of parents, and often school staff, who meet regularly to support the interests of students, teachers, and parents. There are a variety of groups available at Flagler Schools, both at the district level and on each of our campuses. Each of these organizations provides the opportunity to make a difference by becoming involved and informed about your student's education.

District Groups

ESE Parent Advisory Council

The ESE Parent Advisory Council (EPAC)
is a collaborative effort between Flagler Schools and parents of students with disabilities to improve collaboration and communication between the groups and to promote best practices in inclusive education throughout the district. For more details of the format of the committee, refer to the ESE Parent Advisory Council bylaws.

ESOL Parent Leadership Committee

The ESOL Parent Leadership Committee (PLC)
is open to all ESOL Flagler Schools parents. The group meets to discuss the ESOL program, the screening and monitoring of the English acquisition process, and to gather input from our English learner families. Spanish and Russian translators are often in attendance at these meetings.

Grandparents as Parents

This group is open to all grandparents parenting one or more grandchildren. Meetings include a variety of guest speakers that share resources, support, and advice.

School-Based Groups

Parent Teacher Organization

Our Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs) are made up of parents and teachers who work together to provide support for our schools. The group assists the school in achieving curricular and fundraising goals. It also gives parents the opportunity to become involved in their student's education.

These groups operate at each of our elementary schools under their own bylaws. If you are interested in joining the PTO, please contact the school directly for additional information.

School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a school-based group intended to represent the school, the community, and those persons closest to the students that share the responsibility for supporting the school's continuous improvement. The SAC is responsible for final decision-making at the school relating to the annual implementation of the SIP. The SAC assists in the annual preparation of both the SIP and the school's annual budget, as well as the evaluation of the SIP.

SACs are coordinated by each school individually. Please visit the SAC page on each school website for more information.
