New Wadsworth Elementary School Principal

New Wadsworth Elementary School Principal

Flagler Schools Interim Superintendent LaShakia Moore is happy to announce she recommends Amy Neuenfeldt as the next principal of Lewis E. Wadsworth Elementary School.

It is a homecoming of sorts for Mrs. Neuenfeldt, who began her career in education as a classroom teacher at Wadsworth Elementary School in 2003. She also served as a reading coach and teacher support colleague during her more than 14 years on the WES campus. Mrs. Neuenfeldt has served as an assistant principal at Indian Trails Middle School. She was the district’s Assistant Principal of the Year in 2021.

“My time at Wadsworth and the relationships I made there shaped me into the educator and administrator I am today,” says Mrs. Neuenfeldt. “Students, teachers, staff, and parents will see me actively engaged as I do everything I can to promote this great campus. I know what a special place WES is, and now it’s time for our entire community to find that out.”

In making the recommendation, Mrs. Moore says, “Amy has learned so much about effective leadership in her time as an administrator at Indian Trails. That, combined with her long history at Wadsworth Elementary, makes her the ideal principal there. On top of that, she inherits an amazing leadership team who are committed to steering WES in the right direction.”

Amy Neuenfeldt is a 2003 graduate of Flagler College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Deaf Education. She earned her Master of Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida in 2014. Mrs. Neuenfeldt has been a teacher, reading coach, and teacher support colleague in Flagler Schools. She begins her 20th year in the district this August.
