School Resource Deputies

School Resource DeputiesSchool Resource Deputies (SRDs) are a vital part of safety in Flagler Schools. This program thrives due to a solid working relationship between Flagler Schools, the City of Palm Coast and the Flagler County Sheriff’s office.

A School Resource Deputy is a certified and trained law enforcement officer who takes additional courses to prepare for to work with youth in the community. When school is not in session, they attend additional training for best practices in safety, security, mentoring, and community involvement. Their role is to provide the physical presence, training and support to help families and educators feel safe in our school environment.

The SRDs make important connections with students and are called on for their expertise in matters involving law enforcement. As a positive role model for students, SRDs provide information and presentations that help students make better choices and understand the consequences of their actions.
