Food Allergies/Special Diet

Café EDU StudentSpecial Meal Accommodations Federal regulations are in place to ensure that children with disabilities have the same opportunities as other children. Café EDU strives to accommodate the dietary needs of all students whenever possible.
Flagler Schools is required to obtain a Request for Special Meals and/or Accommodations Form for any student requiring a menu accommodation due to a disability that affects the student’s health. This form must be completed and signed by a Licensed Physician (MD, DO), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Physician's Assistant (PA) or Registered Dietitian (RD), identifying the disability and required meal accommodations. An updated form is required each school year, and when a licensed medical authority changes diet orders.
If meal accommodations are no longer required, the Cancellation Letter for Special Meals and/or Accommodations, signed by a licensed medical authority is required. Completed forms may be mailed or faxed to the Flagler Schools Food and Nutrition Department.

Café EDU offers a diverse daily menu to appeal to student preferences. While we do not serve peanuts or tree nuts, we do not claim to be a “nut-free facility,” as some of our products are manufactured on the same equipment as peanuts and/or tree nuts. To view allergen information for our menus and individual menu items for the major allergens: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, and wheat, please view our Menus.

Please contact the Flagler Schools Food Service Nutrition Specialist with any questions.
