Use of Facilities and Athletic Practice Update
Posted on 06/08/2020

Flagler Schools continues to make a measured and deliberate schedule for re-establishing events and activities in and on our campuses and facilities. With each move, we evaluate what steps work and what areas need improvement to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those using our facilities.

Beginning the week of June 21, 2020, Flagler Schools will allow for Use of Facilities to resume. There are several safety procedures required before an outside organization may utilize our facilities. Those procedures will be outlined by the district’s Use of Facilities Specialist when an organization requests a Use of Facilities Agreement.

Beginning June 22, 2020, Flagler Schools will allow athletic and other extracurricular programs may begin holding activities. This includes off-season workouts. Each athletic department has general guidelines that must be followed throughout the phased resumption of activities. Should these safety protocols be ignored or not followed, the activities may be suspended at the discretion of the school and district administration. An important note for participants: all participation in extracurricular activities is voluntary.

It is important to note, an up-to-date physical and physical activity waiver must be on file before an athlete is able to participate in any school-sponsored activity. The physical and waiver can be obtained by an athlete’s physician. Additional health and safety measures will be in place, which will be outlined by coaches and their staff. © 2019 Flagler County Public Schools.
