See Something Say Something
Flagler Schools understands the importance of maintaining safe and secure campuses for our students, faculty, and staff. There are various security measures we have on our campuses, from those you can see to those you may not. We thank our parents and guardians who are paying attention to what their children are doing, especially when online. If you see something, say something. Report suspicious activities or threats to local law enforcement or through the Fortify FL app.
We want to remind our parents and students of how we handle threats that undermine the safety of our campuses. These are found in our Student Code of Conduct. There, you can find how we handle cases of felony charges and convictions for off-campus conduct, as well as how we utilize our Multidisciplinary Team for students with discipline issues that show concerns related to violent or disruptive behaviors and/or legal charges.
We cannot stress this enough: threats to harm others or bring violence onto our campuses will be handled accordingly. There is no “joking around” when threats are made, even if they are online. As we have seen, our local law enforcement will investigate these threats to the fullest extent of the law, which can have severe consequences for the student who is alleged to have made the threat.
Finally, Flagler Schools has worked hard to ensure our students have mental health support on our campuses. We have mental health counselors and school psychologists who can help. Please, contact your child’s school for additional information.
