Fame & Glory Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Gerrit and Zachary!

Team SUPER SPELLERS win first place!

January 31st was the date of our third grade spelling bee.  The winning team representing each class faced each other to compete for first place. 

Mrs. Palot read the story Fame & Glory in Freedom, Georgia to all the third grade classes in the month of November.  We then patterned our spelling bee after the one represented in the book.  Each class had a bee to determine who would go on to the finals.  There were eight teams competing.

The students conducted themselves in a very positive manner and all gave 100% to the event.  The competition was very close, requiring a tiebreaker to determine second and third place.  Our class was so proud to be represented by Gerrit and Zachary!  They did an outstanding job!

Thanks to the generosity of the Wadsworth PTO, the boys each recieved a child and adult ticket to Disney World.  That was the grand prize in the story!
