Hello!!!  I am going to use this section to tell you a little bit about your teacher.  I am my parents only child and I was born in Daytona Beach, FL on August 13, 1978.  I truly love Florida.  Spending time fishing, boating, swimming, jet-skiing or anything that has to do with water is how I spend 90% of my time.

I am a HUGE FSU fan.  I NEVER miss a FSU football game!!!  Go Noles!!! I lived in Tallahassee for 10 years before moving back to our area.  While at FSU, I was in the marching band (I play the trumpet) and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.  I received my BA in Music Education and my MS in Special Education.  I taught in Leon County Schools for 5 years as a elementary music teacher and elementary and middle school ESE teacher.  While I was there, I met my husband "Jim" and we got married on the beach in Ponce Inlet, FL.  Marrying my husband made me a step-mother of great kids James and Krista who are 10 and 12 and live in Colorado.  We go see them and ski in the winter and they come and spend all summer with us.

I am currently working on my Specialist Degree in Special Education/Reading and Literature from University of Florida.  I will graduate in April of 2009 and plan on continuing my PhD at the University after I finish.  I commute 2 times a week and spend many hours in online instruction, but I am learning wonderful things to use in our classroom.

When I am not on the water or studying, I am spending time with all of my animals.  I have 11 birds: a blue and gold macaw(Cabo), a male and female eclectus(Ringo and Bella), 3 sun conures(coco, kiwi, and mango), a jenday conure(Sunny), a blue crown conure(King Bongo), a cherry head conure (Pancho) and 2 green cheek conures (Jackie and Jeanie).  Mornings are full of talking and chirping and I spend time cooking them fresh vegetables, teaching them how to talk and teaching them tricks.  I raised most of them from hatching.  They have a large vocabulary and yes some of them say "LET's GO NOLES!!"  They often make visits to the classroom and we all enjoy adoring their beauty, listening to them talk and watching them interact.  My family also includes my cat (TJ) and two small dogs (Honey and Sir Duke).

I look forward to getting to know those of you that I do not know.  All of you know that you can contact me if you ever need anything.
