During the summer of 2007, I volunteered to take over the adoption of a Loggerhead Turtle's nest. In doing so I invited several Rymfire Elementary families to join me on this adventure. Two days later we joined the turtle patrol team and assisted in cleaning the nest. That day we dug out about 21 turtles, as well as one pip. A pip is a hatchling that is still easing their self out of the eggshell. In total we counted 90 Loggerhead!
