We are delighted to have 30 wonderful students in our first grade class this year. We are one of three classrooms at Rymfire where two teachers are working together to better serve your children.

New this week:

    -Our field trip to the Sanford Zoo is this Thursday! We leave at 9:45 a.m. and head back around 2 p.m. Students should bring a brown bag lunch and wear comfortable shoes.

  -Ice cream and bottles of water or Powerade cost $0.75 if students choose to buy them in the cafeteria. If you do not want your child to buy ice cream or specialty drinks, please talk with them about this cost.

-We are continuing to use Read Naturally packets. These help students learn to read more fluently, or closer to the way we speak. Fluency is a critical skill for budding readers. Timing your child as he/she reads the stories sent home each week will help us build upon your child's reading skills this year. The stories will become more challenging as the school year continues.
