About Your Teacher

My name is Ms. Tracy Kuhn and I will be your child's teacher. 		
I have been a Florida resident for twelve years after moving to 
Palm Coast from Long Island, New York in 1994. 
I have  wanted to teach since I was a child and graduated 
Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida.
While working and attending college, I also volunteered  
in classrooms at Old Kings, and Wadsworth Elementary Schools since 2002.  
I  completed my junior and senior internships at Indian Trails K-8 
Center (now Belle Terre Elementary School), 
and Wadsworth Elementary School  respectively.   
 
During the summer of 2006, I participated in an intense two week reading  
instruction and training sponsored by the North East Florida Education  
Consortium (NEFEC).  The Florida Reading Initiative (FRI) provides educators  
with a plethora of ideas and materials for teaching the five essential  
components of reading.   During the summer of 2008, I attended the Just Read, 
Florida! Literacy Institute, a week-long professional development workshop targeting
effective, research-based reading instruction.

I am also ESOL Endorsed meaning I have 
been trained to teach English  Language Learners.    
 
I have taught both fourth and fifth grade.  My goal is to help your child perform 
to his/her maximum potential. 
 
I am  extremely excited to have the opportunity 
to work with your child during this school year 
and look forward to meeting you.
