Classroom Management Plan:

It is my belief that children learn better when they feel loved and secure. I strive to develop a family atmosphere where students are surrounded with structure and creativity. I redirect students and provide positive reinforcement for appropriate behaviors. We have five simple classroom rules, which are posted in our classroom. Yellow-slips are rarely given and occasionally children are provided an opportunity to visit an "alternative classroom" for a period of reflection. Please take the time to review our school's discipline policy located in your child's planner.

Classroom Discipline

I would like to take this opportunity to review my behavior system. your child has his/her classroom number on a chart. He/she also has five colored cards. A green card means "good job". A yellow card acts as a warning (a yellow card is seperate from a yellow slip). An orange card acts as a five-minute time-out. A blue card means your child will contact you either by phone or a note (time-out assignment). A red card results in a yellow slip. If your child's red card is pulled then he/she will have a referral to the office. We start each day on green as super students. Cards can be "pulled" by a child for a variety of reasons including (but not limited to): not following classroom or school rules or just as a general warning/reminder of appropriate behaviors.

Remember, Every Child Is Unique!
