Ask your child about:
Onset/Rime
We have been learning about beginning sounds and ending sounds.
For example: /c/ - /at/ = cat
We also learned that if we change the onset it makes a new word.
Example: /p/ - /at/ = pat
It is very important to word play with your child. If he/she is having a difficult time learning this skill verbally, you may want to try writing it down for them to see how you are coming up with new words.
