Birthdays
PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY!
Dear Families,
Birthdays are special celebrations for many of you. Our class will recognize your child’s special day with him/her. You may send in a special store bought treat that is ready to eat: cupcakes, brownies, cookies, or muffins. No cakes or ice cream please. You will need to provide napkins, plates, silverware, and/or cups. Please do not bring anything that is required to go into the refrigerator. The celebration is short and is just for your child and his/her classmates. We will sing “Happy Birthday” and I will give him/her a birthday sticker, pencil and crown to wear for the day!
**I will allow invitations for a birthday party that takes place outside of school to be passed out to the ENTIRE CLASS ONLY. I will provide you with a list of first names of students in the class at your request. (I cannot release phone numbers and addresses of students.)
Please save gift giving for the home or parties outside of school. We will not exchange birthday gifts in the classroom. Please do not send in a gift for a student and ask your child or the teacher to give it to the child who is celebrating a birthday.
I ask that you keep in mind my requests so that we may protect tender feelings and honor religious concerns.
Also…I will follow the same procedure as above for handing out thank you cards.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please let me know if your family does not recognize birthdays so that I may find a place for your child to stay while we recognize a child with a birthday. Likewise, let me know if you have preferences to whether your child is not allowed to enjoy the sweet treats.
Thank you,
Ms. Clark
