Homework
Your child's homework packet is sent home in their yellow
folder. It is to be completed and sent back to school by the following Thursday. Please read below for addition information concerning homework.
Usually the homework packet will consist of the following:
Math- the math practice pages are review of what we have been working on during the week. We will usually take our math tests on Monday or Tuesday, therefore it is suggested that your child complete the math homework during the weekend to review for the test.
Reading Comprehension Questions- the reading comprehension questions will be related to the feature story for the following week. Your child should bring their reading book home each night. Therefore, they will have it with them to help answer the questions. YOUR CHILD MUST BRING THEIR READING BOOK BACK TO SCHOOL EACH DAY. We will use the reading book each day. I do not have extra books for you child to use if they leave their book at home.
Grammar/ Phonics/ Spelling- I will include a 2 sided practice page(s) that will consist of our weekly language arts skills.
Science/ Social Studies- Occasionally, your child will bring home practice pages for social studies or science. These will relate to the unit or chapter we are working on in class.
* In addition to the above, your child should study their 15 spelling words that are listed in their planner.
