What's Happening in Science?
This week in science the students will complete chapt. 13 on the properties of Matter. CHAPT. 13 TEST FRIDAY NOV. 21
1.Properties-Physical and chemical properties are characteristics used to describe, identify, and classify matter. Students will learn the differences between physical and chemical changes. They will learn the differences between mixtures and solutions.
2. Read pages E40-E65. Study vocabulary words:
Boiling point, Chemical property, Conductivity, Density, Melting point, Physical property, Solubility, Chemcial change, Chemical reaction, Physical change, Mixture, Solute, Solution, Solvent
Lab for the week: Mixing Mixtures and Solutions-mix various substances and record if they separate, mix, dissolve or chemically react.
