Classroom Rules
  • Follow all school rules as listed in student code of conduct book.
  • Be in your assigned seat (refer to current seating chart) and ready to work when the bell rings (3rd tardy in 9 weeks = referral to dean’s office).
  • Listen carefully. Do not speak when teacher is speaking.
  • Follow directions.
  • Work quietly; do not disturb others who are working.
  • Respect others. Be kind with your words and actions.
  • Respect school and personal property.
  • Work safely; no one may use art equipment without training and previous authorization from the teacher.
  • Raise your hand if you need to leave your seat or you have a question; no one may leave the room without authorization and a hall pass.
  • Food and drink (bottled water is an exception) are not allowed in classroom; cell phones and headsets/CD players must be turned off and kept in personal belongings; these items may be confiscated if school rules are not followed.
 Consequences for behavioral problemsFirst warning: discussion with teacher, parent contact if appropriate.Second offense: After school detention and/or seat assignment change, including possible isolation in classroom from other students (temporary or permanent depending on the nature of the problem). Parent contact and/or conference if appropriate.Third offense: Referral to the dean’s office; possible in school suspension/ISS or out of school suspension/OSS (be aware that certain problems will result in an immediate referral on the first offence and/or a parent conference).Repeated behavioral issues will result in permanent seat assignment changes, parent conferences, & student weekly behavior and/or grade contract with teacher or school.
