SCHOLARSHIPS:

• Nerd National High School Essay Contest: $500.  Write an amusing true story about high school (1500-3000 words) using a minimum of 60 SAT words from Confessions of a High School Word Nerd.  November 15.  www.ConfessionsofaWordNerd.com
• Books a Million:  $500. Write a children’s book or young adult novel.  Due date is December 31.        
• DAR essay:  $1200.  Five perils faced by Christopher Columbus’ expedition(s) and how Columbus and his crew overcame them.  DUE DATE:  November 14.
