WELCOME TO MRS. FRIEDBERG'S MATANZAS HIGH SCHOOL 9TH GRADE CLASS!
The 2008/2009 school year is going to provide you with countless opportunities for growth and success. The faculty at Matanzas High School received CSI training to prepare us for Critical Strategy Instruction as part of the Florida Reading Initiative or FRI. All teachers in every subject area are committed to incorporating the Essential Six: pre-reading strategies, QAR or question/answer relationships, summary frames, concept maps, column notes, and reciprocal teaching. These terms may sound foreign to you now, but they will be second nature to you by the time this school year is over. Use of these strategies will help us reach our goal of Continuous Student Achievement: every day - every way.
