Description of Tasks

Class Work

• Upon entering the classroom, each student in my Intensive Reading and English I classes is to retrieve their independent reading book, take their assigned seat, and be prepared to begin reading when the late bell sounds.
• Students will participate in various vocabulary building activities including but not limited to Word of the Day, Word Webs, Dramatizations, Story Starters, etc.
• Each lesson will begin with whole group instruction followed by small group or individual practice; whichever is appropriate, culminating in a cloze activity. Students receive credit for active participation.

Tests/Quizzes

• Bi-weekly vocabulary tests
• Unit exams as appropriate

Midterm/Final Exam:

• As per school policy, there will be a midterm and a final in January and June respectively.
