Expectations

  • Students are expected to be on time and prepared for class. Per Matanzas High School policy, any student who is not inside the classroom when the bell rings is to be considered tardy and sent to the Dean's office.
  • Students are to adhere to the Flagler County Dress Code Policy. A written copy has been provided to and discussed with each student as well as posted in the classroom. Although not mentioned in said document, be aware that students are to wear their student ID cards at all times. Failure to comply with either of these rules will result in the student being sent to the Dean's office and receiving a referral.
  • Make sure you are familiar with the Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct; as an employee of the Flagler County School District, I have no choice but to support these documents and enforce the conseqences for non-compliance.
  • If it is not yours, don't touch it.
  • Keep your hands, feet, and negative comments to yourself.
  • Treat everyone in the class with respect; this includes visitors, substitute teachers, etc.
  • Only one person should be speaking at a time and in a volume and tone appropriate for classroom instruction.
  • Participate fully and do you best.

Your cooperation in these matters will ensure the optimum conditions for a successful learning environment.
