                                            FITNESS FOLDER ASSIGNMENTS

                                                  1st nine weeks

ASSIGNMENT # 1 Goals - something you are trying to achieve.  Write one short term goal and one long term goal for each of the following:

Fitness / P.E.

School

Home / Personal

ASSIGNMENT # 2 BMI - Body Mass Index - a method of determining body composition.

Ht. -    Wt. -     BMI  -          percentage of body fat -

ASSIGNMENT # 3 Heartrate - the number of times your heart beats in a minute.

Resting HR                               Target HR zone

ASSIGNMENT # 4 Aerobic - with oxygen    Anaerobic - without oxygen

List two aerobic and two anaerobic activities.

ASSIGNMENT # 5 - Physical fitness - the ability of the body systems to work efficiently to maintain health and perform daily activites. Describe a physically fit person.

ASSIGNMENT # 6 - Static stretching - stretching as slowly as possible without pain.  Ballistic stretching - rapid, bouncing movements designed to stretch the muscles. Give two examples of each.

ASSIGNMENT # 7- Exercise - physical activity done especially for the purpose of becoming physically fit. List 3 of your favorite physical activites. (sports or games)

                                              2nd nine weeks

 

ASSIGNMENT #8 - Progression - to increase the amount and intensity of exercise. This should be done gradually. Give two examples of progression.

ASSIGNMENT #9 - Muscular strength - the ability of the muscles to exert force. Muscular endurance - the ability to use the skeletal muscles for long periods of the time without tiring. *Give one example of each.

ASSIGNMENT #10 - Agility - the ability to change directions quickly and control movement of the whole body. Balance - the ability to keep an upright posture while standing still or moving.
