Activities and Tasks:

Monday, 10/6

·      Complete rough draft of “lifeline” narrative

·      Work with a partner who has finished the rough draft. Read through each other’s papers.

o   Has the writer followed the organizational pattern of Angelou’s piece?

o   Does the writer’s lead sound interesting? Does it make you want to read the rest of the essay?

o   Has the writer used original figurative language and sensory detail?

o   Has the writer used some vocabulary words?

·      Discuss with your partner how you might improve your piece

·      If time, begin typing up your final copy

 

Tuesday, 10/7

·      If you didn't finish revising your essay yesterday, complete this step today

·      Type up your final copy

·      Read through to catch all errors

·      Attach outline and rough draft and place in your blue writing folder

 

Wednesday, 10/8

·      Yearbook photo

·      Turn in #3 library check-out sheet

·      Remainder of class period to complete typing, as necessary or read library book

 

Thursday, 10/9

·      Homophone Challenge

 

Friday, 10/10

·      Take Unit #3 vocabulary test

·      Pretesting the Unit #4 words, then begin the Unit #4 vocab exercises
