A positive attitude and willingness to learn are the two essential elements that students must have for success in language arts.

Students are expected to bring their planner to class every day and write down their home assignments and upcoming tests in the section titled, language arts.

Students are required to keep a one inch three ring binder and a composition notebook in the classroom for the entire year.

Supplies needed in this class are: one, one inch, three-ring binder, pens, pencils and a colored pencil, loose-leaf paper, one composition notebook, five dividers for binder labeled as follows: journal, writing, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, a hand held pencil sharpener, and one pocket folder.

Ten points are deducted for each day a home assignment is not turned in, for a three day period.  After three days, a zero is given.

Long-term writing assignments, projects and oral presentations will be given throughout the year.
