Course Policies:

Attendance: It is important that your son/daughter attends class regularly. It is impossible to make up group work and class discussions. Assignments may be made up, but it is impossible to gain the emotion and insight that may have been achieved during class discussion.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MAKE UP WORK: It is the STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to check the make up folder available in class or retrieve make up work on-line. The make up folder and website both contain predicted assignments for each week. Therefore, a student may see what is expected if an absence is anticipated, as well as check for missed assignments from a previous day's absence. I am available, by appointment, before or after school, or by e-mail, to answer any questions a student might have about a missed assignment. One day absent = one day for make up, etc.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CLASSROOM RULES:

·         Bring all needed materials to class.

·         Respect and be polite to all people.

·         DO NOT talk or leave your desk when someone else is talking.

·         Respect other people's property.

·         NO food or drink.

·         Obey all rules in the Student Code of Conduct.

·         Plagiarism will not be tolerated. If a student is caught plagiarizing any information, it will result in a grade of 0%.  In addition, administration and parents will be notified.

Grading:

A total points system will be used in this class to determine a student's grade. Each assignment will be worth a certain number of points. At the end of the grading period, the points will be added and the total divided by the number of assignments to determine the grade. Interim Reports will be distributed halfway through each grading period to inform the students and parents of the grade a student is earning. Assignments are weighted according to importance and/or time involved. Class participation is an important part of students' grades.  Parents and students may also view grades on-line, through the class website, at any time during the grading period.

Grading Scale:

A=90-100 B=80-89 C=70-79 D=60-69 F=0-59
