Science for the week of 12/10 – 14/07
  • Progress Reports went home 12/5/07. I need them back signed. Some students have not done this.
  • We will be viewing the movie ‘Osmosis Jones’ the last 3 days before the holiday break. It is rated ‘PG’, so students need to turn in their signed permission slip ASAP.
  • Students took the Blood, Heart and Circulation Test on Friday…ask for the grade!
  • Respiration HW is due today (Monday, 12/10/07)
  • Our next unit is the Respiratory system. The Respiration Test will be either this Friday
or early next week, depending on progress.
  • Students have been assigned a new Class work/Homework Project on a Human Body System. Rubrics were given out Thursday, Dec. 6th. The Project is due Wednesday, Dec. 19th. This is a test grade. Ask to see the Rubric! Half the Project will be done in class, the other half at home. Students began researching (using the MAC computers) on Friday after their test Circulation Test.
  • The Honors Class also has a Human Illness Project to do as well, which counts as a Test. Rubric was given for this as well. The due date for both Projects in this class is the first day back after the Holiday break, 1/7/08. Students are required to use the ‘Project Possibilities’ sheet and choose appropriate ways of delivering the information requested on the rubric for this project.
Many students have shown academic progress this quarter…there are a LOT fewer ‘D’ and ‘F” grades at Progress Report time (compared to the 1st quarter). I am happy with the progress! Please encourage your child to work hard right up to the holiday vacation.
