I grew up in northern NY, graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a BA in Elementary Education and English Writing, and moved to Atlanta, GA area to start my teaching career.  During my 6 yrs. at Emerson Elementary School teaching special education to kindergarten - 3rd grades, I also earned my Master's Degree in Interrelated Special Education.  I also got married and had a beautiful little girl, named Kerry.

My family moved to Palm Coast, FL in July 2001, where I began teaching at Indian Trails K-8 Center.  I was the ESE Inclusion teacher for 4th and 5th grades.  During my stay at ITK8, I also spent time as a general education teacher.  Once BTES opened, I moved there and continued working as the 4th grade ESE Inclusion teacher.  My latest accomplishment is earning my National Board Teaching Certification!!!  Currently, I'm working on Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership, with a minor in Special Education!  Wish me luck!!

I'm involved with a multitude of committees, locally and internationally.  At my school, I'm one of the Technology Team Leaders, a member of the Leadership Team, POD Mentor, and the facilitator of our ESE Parent Advisory Committee.  I'm involved with county/district committees as well, including the GAP Commission, ESE Focus Group, UNF Liaison, New and Out-of-Field Mentor Teacher, and the Technology Training Team.  Regionally, I'm on the FDLRS Advisory Committee.  And finally, I am the founder and President of the Flagler Council for Exceptional Children (sub. of the International CEC).
