Parents and students always ask about my life outside of school. Here’s a little something about me.

I lived in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for most of my life and moved to the Palm Coast area almost 8 years ago. We found this area, by accident, when my youngest son was attending Flagler College. We were driving down A1A, while Matthew was in class and came across a small, fairly quiet city. We thought, “Why is Matt surfing and we are shoveling snow?” Something was definitely wrong with that picture! So, here we are today. To top it off, all of our children live in the area, too. Yeah!
I’ve been married to my husband Paul for 38 years. We have 3 fantastic children. Our daughter, Jamie is a 5th grade teacher here at Bunnell Elementary. Her husband teaches at Matanzas High School and is also an assistant football coach. Our son Andrew lives and works in Jacksonville. He owns a pet waste clean-up franchise. Matthew is teaching 9th grade at St. Augustine High School in St. Johns County. His wife, Megan, is also a teacher. I love to read, play with our dogs, go to the movies and watch television. We have a 12 year old yellow Labrador retriever, Molly, and a one year old Shih Tzu, Joey.
As I enter my 16th year of teaching, my 4th at Bunnell Elementary, I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this school year. I continue to go to seminars, conferences, and workshops to learn new and better ways to assist your child in learning. Your child comes to me with varied experiences, habits (good and bad), fears, desires, etc. My job, the first few weeks, is to try to figure it all out. I hope that you will assist me with this endeavor. You know your child better than anyone else, so please help me to get to know your child. Share your concerns, reservations, and desires for this school year. This will enable me to teach your child in the style that works best for him/her. You and I are now a team.
