Flagler County Schools Plant Services Department
Our objective is to help every student and employee to perform, learn and excel in an attractive, safe, modern, comfortable environment… Working to build system capacity by operating the Plant Services Division of the Flagler County School System in harmony with the vision, beliefs and basics we have adopted to achieve the status of an internationally competitive school system. The department is responsible for minor and major maintenance, renovation and remodeling of all facilities. Working in house and with outside contractors and consultants, Plant Services oversees upwards of two million square feet of buildings on 659 acres of property. Maintaining 19 high tech school and ancillary sites is a twenty-four seven responsibility for our highly trained crews and staff. In the past year the department processed over four thousand-seven hundred work orders and completed approximately seven million dollars in capital improvements to the district. The department employs a full range of sophisticated modern equipment allowing us to perform civil and construction services, energy management, indoor air quality assessment, asset tracking, and a host of other functions. The latest Department of Education Office of Educational Facilities report on the annual cost of maintenance and operations shows Flagler County schools at 28% under the state average in maintenance cost per square foot, and 14% under the state average in per student cost.
