In 2005 the GAP Commission was formed. The role of this Commission is to explore possible reasons and solutions to the problem of students not succeeding. The Gap Commission explores different populations and makes suggestions to the Superintendent and School Board as to strategies to close the learning GAP between all students. The ultimate goal is high achievement for all students.
The Commission is divided into focus groups, focusing on different groups, such as Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Limited English and Minority Students. The groups are asked to appoint a leader and form questions, answers, research and suggestions or solutions for their particular area. Then all groups discuss as a whole. The Commission has much documentation and research to back findings and many students have been affected for their betterment. For more information on this Commission or to become involved please contact Nicole Brose at brosen@flaglerschools.com.
