Our First Week

Wow, what an exciting week we have had! Our first day was great. We got to know each other and our classroom. We talked about "Our Classroom Promise." This is a promise that we made to each other to ensure happiness and success in our classroom. I strive to have all of the children feel a sense of ownership in our classroom and the promise gives them this power! I have emphasized to the children that we are a new family and we will strive and succeed in many educational journeys this year!
Our second day was even better. We had some routines down and we got right to work. I am thrilled at how intelligent and interesting all of the students are. They each bring something different and exciting to our learning environment.
Then there was Tropical Storm Fay. What were supposed to be our 3rd and 4th and 5th days of school were spent at home waiting out the storm. We will pick up where we left off and will be ready to continue on with what will be a great year in first grade. I am so delighted to have a classroom filled with such amazing children.
