Poetry Slam Scores High

On October 28th the Flagler County Reading Coaches sponsored a district wide Poetry Slam at the Flagler Auditorium. Over 150 original or published poems were presented.
Performers included students from grades K-12, parents, community members, staff members and teachers. In the spirit of the poetry readings of the 1960’s the evening included students from Indian Trails Middle School protesting the effect of invasive plants on our environment, and admiration for the performances was expressed through snapping fingers as opposed to applause.
The evening was a fabulous opportunity to celebrate literacy in Flagler County!
