Quadrathlete Tournament: *Devon Champion* Named “Ultimate Gamer”.  On Thursday March 20th, eight Youth Center participants competed in: 8-Ball, Ping-Pong, Halo, and Basketball to be determine who would be declared the “Ultimate Gamer”. Competition was tight with different competitors winning various events, and the winner was not decided until the final event, 1 on 1 Basketball. At the end, it was Devon Champion left on top, and officially declared the “Ultimate Gamer”!

SAC Scholarship: The Student Advisory Council (SAC), the governing body of the Youth Center, has decided to sponsor a $500 Scholarship, for any senior member of the council, planning to enter a 2-4 year school of higher education. Any senior SAC member may apply and each applicant must submit an application plus a one page essay explaining their need and why they deserve the award. Hopefully, as long as the funding is available, this scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis.  

"Friday Night Lights”:  Our next Friday Night Lights Event is set for Friday, April 25th , 2008, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. During this time the Youth Center will be open to Middle School youth ONLY! Admission is FREE, with all participants required to present their School ID Card at the door. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to play Pool, Ping-Pong, and Foosball. The 24 station Computer Lab will also be available for use with games and social networking. Individuals may also participate in various small tournaments and win prizes.

Town Hall Meeting: Families are encouraged to participate in a Town Hall Meeting addressing Underage Drinking, on Thursday, April 3rd, at 6:00pm, on the 3rd floor of the Government Service Building.  This event is being sponsored by Focus on Flagler Youth Coalition, and features a panel of authorities including our own SRO, Deputy Calvin Grant. Keep in mind the average age for the initial use of alcohol is 12.6! Mark you calendars now and plan to attend this riveting presentation for ALL family members! Remember Knowledge is a form of Empowerment!

Summer Camp 2008:  Summer Camp at the Youth Center is Full. Sixty area youth will have a wonderful summer spending time in the Youth Center and sharing fabulous experiences with center staff!.

SWAT Report: FCYC’s Students Working Against Tobacco group successful completed their I-95 Billboard project! As you head North on I-95, shortly after you cross into the Flagler County, you will see an AWESOME  SWAT Billboard designed by FPCHS students. Special thanks to Focus on Youth Coalition and the Flagler County Department of Heath for funding this effective non-smoking project.

2008 Summer Trips:  The dates have been set and bus arrangements made, for our very exciting FCYC Summer Trip schedule. Keep in mind any Flagler County Youth, in grades 6th -12th, may participate in these activities!
Schedule: June: 13th-Bowling, 18th:-Daytona Lagoon, 20th:-Swimming, 25th-Disney Quest, 27th:-Bowling, July: 2nd-Daytona Lagoon, 9th-Universal, 16th-Daytona Lagoon, 18th-Swimming, 23rd:-IMAX/Golf, 25th:-Bowling, 30th:-Daytona Lagoon, August 1st-Bowling, and August 6th-Sea World’s Aquatica.
