SADD & FCYC Valentines Dance Huge Success: Students Against Destructive Decisions & Youth Center joined forces to sponsor a Valentines Dance on Friday, February 15th. Music was provided by FCYC DJ’s: Carl Delesdernier, Ian Roles, and Mike White. The dance floor was busy and so were the pool tables in the refreshment room. Lot’s of “SWEET” treats were available for all. The evening concluded with a FREE drawing for all participants for various prizes. FPCHS’s Josh Brooks & Ariel Camburn each won the Grand Prize, of a brand new 2GB/MP3 Player. An additional twenty five lucky individuals also won various Valentine Gifts. The dance was an AWESOME way to conclude this years Valentines Day celebration!
"Friday Night Lights”: Our next Friday Night Lights Event is set for Friday, March 28th, 2008, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. During this time the Youth Center will be open to Middle School youth ONLY! Admission is FREE, with all participants required to present their School ID Card at the door. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to play Pool, Ping-Pong, and Foosball. The 24 station Computer Lab will also be available for use with games and social networking. Individuals may also participate in various small tournaments and win prizes. During February’s “Friday Night Lights” event, David Acevedo III, from ITMS, won a Gift Card playing a computer game tournament. All Middle School aged youth are invited to attend, our March event, and take advantage of the AWESOME opportunity!
Disney Quest Trip: The Youth Center’s Student Advisory Council’s Venturing Committee is sponsoring a day at Disney Quest, in Downtown Disney, on Friday, March 21st, from 10am -7:30pm. Keep in mind, Friday, March 21st is a scheduled Flagler Palm Coast School District In-Service Day, Instead of sitting home alone, take advantage of this trip and have an awesome experience at Disney Quest. Any Flagler County youth, in grades 6th -12th, are welcome to participate. The fee is $30 per person, and includes admission to Disney Quest, round trip bus transportation and adult supervision. Tickets go on sale at the Flagler County Youth Center, on Monday February 4th, at 2:00pm, and continue until the trip sells out. Space is limited on this trip, so do not delay, buy your ticket early to guarantee your participation.(Do Not Delay for Space IS Limited)
Summer Camp 2008: “Open Registration” begins Monday, March 3rd, for any community member that has a child entering 6th grade through 8th Grade, wishing to participate in this “HOT” summer experience. Beat last minute panic, and sign you child up early for camp this year! Open Registration will continue at the Youth Center, during operational hours, until the camp is full. The cost of the entire camp is a Non-Refundable $50 Registration Fee, due at the time of registration. Cash & Checks payable to FPCHS will be accepted. Only additional costs, per camper, for the remainder of the summer would be for individual trips campers would like to attend. The Flagler County Youth Center’s Summer Camp program is extremely popular, and space is limited. To insure your child’s participation do not delay, Register Early! Registration Forms are available on line at: www. fcyc.isgreat.org. On the left of our Home Page you will see” 2008 Summer Camp Registration Form”. Not only can you print a complete Registration Form, you can also view and print a detailed Informational Flyer.
2008 Summer Camp Trips: The following trips have been scheduled for the Summer of 2008: Daytona Lagoon, Disney Quest, Islands of Adventure, IMAX at World Golf Village, and a special trip to Sea Worlds NEW Aquatica!! Additional information and details to follow in future newsletters.
