21st CCLC’s Relay For Life®

On April 5, 2008, Flagler County’s 21st Century Community Learning Center is joining in the fight against cancer by hosting our very own Mini-Relay. Through our Mini-Relay, our goal is to raise $1,000.00 for the American Cancer Society® while learning important information about how cancer can be prevented. The Mini-Relay is just one example of how our community is fighting cancer.
21st CCLC’s Relay For Life® will take place at Flagler Palm Coast High School-back parking lot. Participants will walk, jog, ride bikes from FPC to the Publix parking lot in the New Town Center Complex. This Mini Relay For Life is an abbreviated version of the American Cancer Society national signature activity Relay for Life that allows the community an opportunity to honor and support cancer survivors while learning more about how the disease is being fought through research, advocacy, education and patient services. Because our program is sponsoring our very own Mini-Relay, we are asking you to be a participant of 21st Century Community Learning Center and walk for a cure.
21st Century Community Learning Center at Bunnell Elementary School is a before- and after-school academic enrichment program that focuses on helping students improve their social, behavior, and educational needs, which include homework assistance, reading, writing, math, physical education, nutrition, computer technology and various fun enriching activities to enhance each student’s academic achievement.
Following opening ceremonies, all of the cancer survivors present will be recognized. If you know of any cancer survivors, please invite them to join us so we can honor them. As a before- and after-school program, we have taken up the fight against cancer, and have come one-step closer to finding for a cure. I hope that you will consider joining us at the first annual 21st CCLC Community mini Relay for Life as we show our support for the entire community’s fight against cancer! If you are unable to attend, you may make a donation. All monies raised by 21st CCLC staff, students, teachers, parents and community members will be donated to the Flagler County Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.
