New Beginnings
Family Literacy Program

The goal of New Beginnings is to provide a family literacy program utilizing a partnership between family, schools, and community.

New Beginnings is a family literacy program administered by the Adult and Community Education Department of the Flagler County School District.  It is designed to empower families to grow toward independence together.   Believing that every parent is his or her child’s first and best teacher is a key element of this program as is educational classes wherein the parents are taught how to teach their children along with how to interact with their children.

Parents who have children ages 0-7 and are in need of English proficiency, high school diploma, or GED may enroll and are expected to attend parent skill building classes and Interactive Literacy Activities facilitated by New Beginnings personnel.
