The ESOL program is designed to increase the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for adults whose primary language is not English. Classes are held for all English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) levels of English Proficiency and the curriculum follows the frameworks and benchmarks of Florida State Standards. This course can articulate with the Adult Basic Education (ABE) and/or the General Education Development (GED) program depending upon individual needs and goals.



Class work includes the use of the computer for listening, speaking, and writing skills, and other class activities may include field trips to grocery and department stores, discussion of current events and issues of topical interest, sharing of cultural differences, working with money and banking issues, as well as sharing in covered dish luncheons.
