This is a federally funded program in which the Adult and Community Education Department contracted with the Early Learning Coalition (ELC), upon their request, to provide much needed subsidized child care in Flagler County. With cooperation from
private day care centers, the Adult Education Child Care Center opened in 1990 and presently enrolls 110 children whose parents must be working or going to school as part of their qualifying status. This program is federally funded
with a contract from ELC. In August of 1996, 0-5 Child Care moved into a beautiful new building which houses all our classrooms, kitchen, parent/staff resource room and our offices. A new playground was added giving the children a perfect balance of daily activities. Adult Education also offers 0-5 Staff Child Care which provides daily care for the children of full time Flagler County School employees.
