Recreational activities have a multiple
focus to include Fitness, Nutrition, and Health and are
designed to help decrease the national obesity
epidemic. The Fitness component utilizes access to all
available Flagler County School district facilities including school
gymnasiums, sports fields, and equipment. In addition, the
Belle Terre Swim and Racquet Club as well as, in cooperation with
the City of Palm Coast, the Frieda Zamba Aquatic Complex
Directed by a certified fitness
trainer, this program provides students with fitness
evaluations and supervised fitness training.

Certified swim instructors
provide every participating student with Learn to Swim
classes.

Our on-staff, certified nutrition
instruction conducts healthy eating classes, evaluates and
helps students to work on weekly food journals, and conducts
healthy snack cooking classes. Healthy eating education is
shared with parents.

Exercise activities to burn calories
and build strength and flexibility include aerobics, aquatic
exercise, Tai Chi, Yoga, dance, and sports activities.

Sports activities may include jump
rope club, tennis, soccer, tumbling, basketball, volleyball,
cheerleading, track and field, water polo, synchronized swimming,
and martial arts. Flagler County Sheriff's Department and
Police Athletic League volunteers assist with coaching.

Special events, such as "Olympics" and
field day competitions are held quarterly.
